External Affairs (Communications)

The External Affairs/Communications intern will support the department by crafting and maintaining clear, consistent messaging regarding our union’s mission; promoting the NFLPA brand across its traditional and digital media platforms; and generating innovative ways to effectively engage and communicate with our player members.

A strong candidate for this role will be an enthusiastic self-starter who possesses strong writing skills, has proficient experience with digital media platforms (i.e. Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn), understands how to message effectively across these same platforms, works well with others, shows attention to detail and invigorates our team with a fresh perspective. Basic knowledge of Canva, Adobe and/or similar tools is a plus.

Thurner Photography Summer Internship 2026

Thurner Photography is a photography studio located in The Highline in Pittsburgh, PA that specializes in commercial and portrait photography. As an intern for Thurner Photography, you will learn and perform the duties of a photographer who works with studio and natural lighting. The intern will help assist in the studio, located in The Highline, and on jobs that are located within the greater Pittsburgh area. The intern must live in/near or be able to travel to the city of Pittsburgh. As an assistant, the intern will help create lighting and sets, manage Capture One sessions, make postproduction edits, as well as aid in other general studio tasks. Prior photography knowledge is a plus, but not needed. Thurner Photography will teach the intern different ways to light a subject using studio and natural lighting, how to use Capture One and any equipment being used during a session. The intern will be able to learn and witness all roles that create a commercial photo shoot such as pre-production producing, make-up and wardrobe styling, digital teching, photography and more.
